But before we get into the dirty stuff, I would like to discuss a few words about a blog.

What is a Blog?

A blog is a website updated regularly with new articles or content. When you create a blog, you are essentially creating your online magazine.

What is a Domain Name?

A domain name is the address of a website. This is what people will type in to find your website. It can also be called a web address or URL, which stands for Uniform Resource Locator.

The domain name and web address are often ones and the same, but not always. For example, if you have an email account with Gmail, your domain name might be gmail.com and your email’s web address.

Registering your company’s new domain is best when you have an idea of what your site will be about. This way, the domain can be associated with the content on your website.

It is also important to make sure that the name you want is available before registering. You can check if any other websites use the same name as yours or if it has already been registered. It is also important to buy a domain from a reputable provider so that they will not sell it to someone else while you are in the process of registering it.

Furthermore, domain names are one of the most important assets for any business. It is imperative to have a domain name that is easy to remember and that reflects your business.

How to Change SSH Port In cPanel/WHM and Why

This video will discuss how to change your default SSH Port In cPanel/WHM and Why.

I’ll show you how to change the default SSH port via SSH for additional security for your server.

The default port for ssh is 22, which is not that difficult to guess. If you would like to secure your server and make it more difficult for hackers to access it, change the default ssh port to something difficult to guess, like 1024.

Here are some reasons why you should change your default ssh port in your server:

  • The default port for SSH is 22, and it’s well-known by hackers, so they can easily hack into your server if they know the default ssh port
  • If someone gets access to one of your servers and changes the password, they won’t be able to log in using SSH because it needs the right port to get through it.

To set up the port to 4999, run the commands below.

# to edit the SSH configuration file:
nano /etc/ssh/sshd_config

Scroll down and find line Port 22. Change it from 22 to 4999. Press Ctrl+X and Y, then ENTER to save the configuration file in the nano interface.

We also need to restart the SSH service to apply the changes to our server, and the commands are below.

# restart sshd config to apply the changes:
service sshd restart

You have now changed the ssh port!

Watch the following video on how to change the default SSH port on your cPanel server, so you don’t get confused throughout the steps.
